Today we begin our assault on or assigned project: tear out and re-deck the front porch, and paint the entire inside of our residents house.
We made good progress through the day- drinking as much water as possible and staying in the shade when possible. I neglected to put sunscreen on initially, and when I did remember to apply it absolutely burned my skin away- awesome.
So you can see here each of my crew members hard at work measuring, cutting and drilling as the day went on. We got the entire old deck ripped out and replaced about half of the deck with new 2 x6 planks cut to 6 feet length.
Tomorrow we should have the deck finished and our steps built too- and then its to the interior for painting fun!
Back at our home base we had a dinner of pulled pork, salad, celery and corn-followed by our evening program.
Good songs and a powerful message of "releasing the captives" brought our day to a good close- and at the very end of the night a trip to the sea wall to enjoy the "cool" breeze- and watch a massive oil tanker go steaming by. Impressive!
